About Hip Decoded
HipDecoded is an educational website dedicated to helping patients and their families better understand hip conditions, treatment options, hip replacement surgery, and the journey toward recovery.
Our goal is simple: to make complex medical knowledge easier to understand, so patients can make informed decisions about their hip health with greater confidence.
Whether you are experiencing hip pain, exploring treatment options, considering hip replacement surgery, or recovering from an operation, HipDecoded is designed to provide clear, practical, and evidence-informed information to guide you along the way.
Why HipDecoded Was Created
Throughout my years of caring for patients with hip conditions, I have encountered many people who share similar concerns
- Why does my hip hurt?Do I really need hip replacement surgery?
- Are there alternatives to surgery?
- Which surgical approach is right for me?
- What should I expect during recovery?
- Will I be able to return to my normal activities?
These are important questions, and the answers are not always straightforward.
Many patients encounter medical information that is either too technical, difficult to understand, or focused on promoting a particular treatment rather than helping them understand their options.
I created HipDecoded to bridge that gap.
I believe that patients deserve more than simply being told what treatment they need. They deserve to understand why a treatment is recommended, what alternatives exist, and what they can realistically expect.
HipDecoded was created to translate clinical knowledge and surgical experience into practical information that patients can understand and use.
Meeet the Author
HipDecoded is written by an orthopedic surgeon with more than 10 years of experience in the treatment of hip disorders and hip replacement surgery.
My clinical practice focuses on helping patients with conditions such as hip osteoarthritis, osteonecrosis of the femoral head, and other disorders that can significantly affect mobility and quality of life.
A particular area of my professional interest is Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) Total Hip Replacement, a surgical technique that accesses the hip joint through natural intervals between muscles, generally without detaching major muscle tendons.
Over the years, my experience in clinical practice, surgery, patient recovery, and surgical education has reinforced an important principle:
Successful hip replacement is not only about performing a technically sound operation. It is also about choosing the right treatment for the right patient, setting realistic expectations, and supporting a safe and meaningful recovery.
Although I have a particular interest in the Direct Anterior Approach, I recognize that no single surgical technique is ideal for every patient. Treatment decisions should always be individualized according to the patient's condition, anatomy, goals, and clinical circumstances.
Through HipDecoded, I hope to share both established medical knowledge and practical insights gained from caring for patients.Type your paragraph here

Our Philosophy
At HipDecoded, we believe that better understanding leads to better-informed decisions.
Our educational philosophy is built around three principles:
Clarity — Medical information should be understandable without sacrificing scientific accuracy.
Balance — Every treatment has benefits, limitations, and potential risks. Patients should be able to understand all of them.
Patient-Centered Care — The best treatment is not necessarily the newest technique or the most advanced technology. It is the treatment that best suits an individual patient's needs.
HipDecoded is not intended to persuade everyone to undergo surgery. Sometimes, understanding when surgery is unnecessary or when it can safely be postponed is just as valuable as understanding when surgery may be beneficial.Type your paragraph here
Our Commitment to Reliable Information
The content on HipDecoded is informed by established medical knowledge, available scientific evidence, clinical guidelines, and professional experience.
We aim to present information fairly, distinguish evidence from clinical opinion, and acknowledge areas where medical evidence remains uncertain or continues to evolve.
As medical knowledge advances, articles may be reviewed and updated to reflect important developments.
A Final Message
Hip problems can affect far more than the ability to walk. They can influence independence, confidence, daily routines, and overall quality of life.
My hope is that HipDecoded will help you better understand your condition, ask more meaningful questions, and participate confidently in decisions about your care.
You do not need to become a medical expert to make an informed decision. You simply deserve information that helps you understand your choices.
